Everybody wants a piece of the pie. China is the biggest auto market in the world. Lots of new buyers who are getting rid of their bicycles. GM has moved most of their engineering there already. GM was first in they sold an entire plant to China and in typical Chinese R&D (ripoff & duplicate) they had copied all the tooling and had a new plant up and running before the GM engineers set up the stuff that had been sent. Saleen jumped on the band wagon but the arguments are still ongoing as to who ripped off who.

That is a big part of it. GM has made no bones about how every US made car costs at least $5,000 more due to the legacy costs of retirees and their healthcare. China has none of those costs - you work til you die.

Why are we doing any business/buying/selling with COMMUNIST China?

    Because the American consumer wants to buy stuff CHEAP!    

    It's not the U.S. Government, although particularly with the current administration but also with the aid of others past, the pathway is made more possible, but it is due to the American people, and their lack of understanding or care for the ramifications of their actions; and due to the sum of individuals who are just not Americans, who are, even when they understand, intentionally doing their best to remain that way even though they enjoy the benefits, happy to just pick the bones of what is left of this nation.

    I'm for fare trade practices; the U.S. should adopt the very trade practices of China, as applied to U.S. products attempting to enter there.  Stop being afraid we'll hurt someone's feelings, whether that the Chinese or some liberals (aka. progressives, socialists, the true fascists, communists, anarchist and the just plain stupid  ) and then you won't see nearly as much crap made in china occupying the retail shelves.

    But of course the Bidden aristocracy, along with many others of the elected and social elite might not be so pleased; but this issue is really caused by the populace, and truly it can only be fixed by those who choose utilize their economic power (that is before we've sent it all to china of course    ) to dictate the will of the people.  Now that sounds a little like one is preaching nationalism, and I realize that in today's P.C. society this is radicalism, boarder lining on racism, someone will throw out the accusation of Fascism as this also popular verbiage but actually just showing their ignorance, and I am just an angry white male (is there anything lower?    ), but all of this is the problem of our society!

    Look at YOUR credit-card statement, what did YOU buy, sometimes you just have no choice, but did YOU try to buy American made products or did YOU just buy the cheapest shyt, because it was cheap?

I'm for fare trade practices; the U.S. should adopt the very trade practices of China, as applied to U.S. products attempting to enter there.  Stop being afraid we'll hurt someone's feelings, whether that the Chinese or some liberals (aka. progressives, socialists, the true fascists, communists, anarchist and the just plain stupid  ) and then you won't see nearly as much crap made in china occupying the retail shelves.

Same problems when Japan entered the world market. They were of course dumping (selling for less than cost with .gov making up loss) to get market share. The only protection we had was a tax on trucks. They beat that by shipping them without the beds. The beds were made here and installed at the port so the final assembly point was the US and no tax.
Japan effectively blocked the Pinto and Vega from entry. Japan has taxes on the size of the car and also in engine size. The Pinto was too wide the Vega engine was too big and the taxes prevented them from being competitive in the Japanese market.
The Italians handled it best. They said sure glad to have you. Then dropped the bombshell that for every Toyota off the boat they would be buying an Italian made car to take back to Japan. Japan put Italy on hold.
