No, no. It's the popularizing of Texas style chili.

That guy in the shorts? He's from Dawson. What do you expect. That snow is the middle of summer for him.

LA? How about Miami? Is you house up on ten foot high stilts yet? Maybe make your car an Amphacar? Convertibles would do well with that?

Funny that you mention that both properties in the keys are at 13 feet above sea level and both on cements stilts.....safe !

Our home in Miami is a two (cbs) story and that area is also well above sea level and it has never flooded in some pretty wet storms

Still upper 70s low 80s down here,  let me take a current picture for you so you can partially enjoy my day

Thanks for your concern

It's good that they are that high. You will be able to park your boat directly beneath them and fish right off of the porches. Good thinking!

Well, now things are going "swimmingly "in Los Angeles...... ;)

FL SAAC

Been down there for a long time, bought them right.  Used and rented them out, actually some saac members have stayed in them and let's just say they stayed very economically and where extremely happy with the accommodations and how centric it was to restaurants, shops, fueling, essentially you felt like you where on the mainland.

Although we usually jest about  every topic including weather and the global climate is changing rapidly, living down there we have experienced tidal changes  and they are not getting any better. In the next 15 to 20 years some will loose their homes,  won't be able to sell or a buyer will not be able to finance or acquire insurance. Twenty years and beyond who knows what the island chain will look like.

Power just came back on. Off for about 1/2 hour. I amazes me how Edison always has an outage after hearing just one clap of thunder.

I've always thought those houses on stilts out in the ocean were cool. But being a Yankee I'd have to go for this one.
I have always found it difficult to keep up my hermit existence in a tract home.
