I was supposed to be there.  You have to cancel a month before the auction to get a refund.  That was the week they postponed several NFL and NBA games.  This year and last are the only two I've missed in about 15 years.

I really wanted to see that car in person.  I guess it's true that quality cars still bring the money.

Congrats Charles!  I was a little scared for you after seeing some of the earlier prices.

Yes, on both points, glad it sold well.

Thanks guys, was a wild ride, going to a great home!
WOW . Congrats Charles. I'm glad the buyers there recognized your car for what it is. It has to be a world record, right? I mean for a reg production 68 Shelby GT350 vert. This will inspire Seraphim even more while he is continually buying NOS parts for his red GT350 vert. Gary

I'm not sure who keeps all the auction records, but according to Hagerty, my car sold for significantly higher than the top sale there.

I usually tape the auctions and fast forward. There was one car where Joy(think it was him) said was a world record during the Sat auction. I don't know how he would know that. I have never seen a GT350 vert bring what yours did but there are private sales and such. I remember many years ago I was privy to 2 black 70 Cougars finding new homes for what I thought easily would have been world records at their time(G and R-codes).
