Attached are a couple of photos of the restored gauge cluster for my 68 KR. Thanks to Orlando Mustang for restoring the gauge cluster and installing a new tachometer.

Looks nice.

Question on the inner faces of the plastichromed speedo & tach bezels: Did the factory build them with the black insert, or were they originally all shiny plastichromed?

The originals on my KR have been cleaned so many times (even before I bought the car 40 years ago) that it's worn down to the plastic itself.

My understanding is that the assembly line clusters have the chrome plastic ring around the speedo and tach as per the photos I had attached. I've owned my KR since 1981 and had installed a Ford replacement bezel in the late 80's in my car and it had the speedo and tach all black. In addition, the Ford replacements had black border around the high-beam indicator light. These were the reason I had my original cluster restored by Orlando Mustang, as they restore to assembly line standards. Very happy with the results.
