a cubed shelby, Oh Lord, where art though
« on: January 17, 2022, 09:14:46 AM »
OH BOY,
Cotter just showed pictures of a """ CUBED SHELBY """"" 1967 Shelby GT 500 that was stripped of its serial numbers and shelby ID plate.
Happened decades ago at a junk yard in NY.
I would assume there is a GT 500 running around with welded in numbers and original Shelby plate,
About 410 on index.

One comment asks if it could be the Jim Morrison Shelby.

Is this the first futuristic exotic in the world?
Size of an ac cobra, but built in 1935 !

Kool story,  could be Jimmys but I think Jimmys was parted out then compacted.  Later made into other useful recyclables

Thanks for sharing

Looks green to me, not the Night mist blue of Morrison's or?

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.   The Blue Lady was crashed - undoubtedly junked - flattened and shipped to Japan - who was much smarter on recycling steel in that time period than we were. It probably missed having been fed into a giant chipper so more could fit in the hold as that tech came later.
The good news is it lived again. But sadly not as a Shelby but as some Toyota or Datsun.

You and I are one of the few realist that know JMs Shelby has vanquished.

But you just never know, just like some "race cars" it to may be resurrected as JMs long lost GT500....the Phoenix

That would make for a great little horror story.  I could get something out of that...

The person who got the 1967 Shelby from the junk yard and turned it into a coffee table is a SAAC member and made sure the Registrar got the Vin. number and details. The car was white originally and had at least one color change. Yes, someone did rebody the car and it is in the Registry.
