There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb

Sounds like a Black Hole to me. You enter, but never leave?

I wonder where it comes out or if you ever get to the end?

Be careful with spirituality. Others who don't understand with call you a leper but then again the Chevy guys think we are anyway?

Thank you very much for the listen.  I like to leave it up to the audience to decide what exactly the phenomenon might be.  I encourage free thought.

It is from another dimension where things exist in pure thought. If you think it exits, then there it does. If you think you are dead, then you are.

It's a tricky place to navigate. Us humans are accustomed to more regimented thought and existence and unstable individuals incapable of fluidity of thought might have difficulty surviving for long in that dimension?

Maybe a wormhole rather then a black hole but some think a black hole IS a worm hole and there are ancient stone carvings that do speak of time portals. Semantics?

Imagine who you might meet along the way? Perhaps an infinite journey with an unlimited expansion or continuation of the old Route 66 idea?

Would you be satisfied if it went on forever along with driving your '66?

The difficulty in departing this existence for the next is loosing all your living contacts here that you likely will never meet up again in a Universe of infinite size?

When you meet someone new, do you ever have the sensation that you have met or known them before?

I keep running into this one guy that I keep asking, "where do I know you from?" He says, "you stupid ass, you know me from the parts store. I'm Rob. Remember?"

Hum? Must be he shaved and took a shower?  ::)

That is quite a cerebral analysis there.

"It is from another dimension where things exist in pure thought. If you think it exits, then there it does. If you think you are dead, then you are."

That sounds very Lovecraftian of you.

Okay, chew on these.

H. P. Lovecraft Quotes That Show Why He's the King of Literary Horror
H. P. Lovecraft Quotes About Fear and Horror
#1. "The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."

#2. "Ultimate horror often paralyses memory in a merciful way."

#3. "From even the greatest of horrors, irony is seldom absent."

#4. "Ocean is more ancient than the mountains, and freighted with the memories and the dreams of Time."

#5. "No new horror can be more terrible than the daily torture of the commonplace."

#6. "It is a mistake to fancy that horror is associated inextricably with darkness, silence, and solitude."

#7. "The process of delving into the black abyss is to me the keenest form of fascination."

#8. "Unhappy is he to whom the memories of childhood bring only fear and sadness."

#9. "Fear is our deepest and strongest emotion, and the one which best lends itself to the creation of nature-defying illusions."

#10. "Horror and the unknown or the strange are always closely connected so that it is hard to create a convincing picture of shattered natural law or cosmic alienage or 'outsideness' without laying stress on the emotion of fear."

#11. "There are horrors beyond life's edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while man's evil prying calls them just within our range."

H. P. Lovecraft Quotes About Insanity and the Unknown
#12. "Bunch together a group of people deliberately chosen for strong religious feelings, and you have a practical guarantee of dark morbidities expressed in crime, perversion, and insanity."

#13. "Almost nobody dances sober unless they happen to be insane."

#14. "If I am mad, it is mercy! May the gods pity the man who in his callousness can remain sane to the hideous end!"

#15. "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of the infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."

#16. "It is absolutely necessary, for the peace and safety of mankind, that some of earth's dark, dead corners and unplumbed depths be let alone; lest sleeping abnormalities wake to resurgent life, and blasphemously surviving nightmares squirm and splash out of their black lairs to newer and wider conquests."

#17. "Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability."

H. P. Lovecraft Quotes About Mankind and Life
#18. "The world is indeed comic, but the joke is on mankind."

#19. "What a man does for pay is of little significance. What he is, as a sensitive instrument responsive to the world's beauty, is everything!"

#20. "I never ask a man what his business is, for it never interests me. What I ask him about are his thoughts and dreams."

#21. "I am so beastly tired of mankind and the world that nothing can interest me unless it contains a couple of murders on each page or deals with the horrors unnameable and unaccountable that leer down from the external universes."

#22. "I am not very proud of being a human being; in fact, I distinctly dislike the species in many ways. I can readily conceive of beings vastly superior in every respect."

#23. "Life is a hideous thing, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous."

#24. "Adulthood is hell."

#25. "It is easy to remove the mind from harping on the lost illusion of immortality. The disciplined intellect fears nothing and craves no sugar-plum at the day's end, but is content to accept life and serve society as best it may."

#26. "Memories and possibilities are even more hideous than realities."

H. P. Lovecraft Quotes About His Beloved Cats
#27. "Cats are the runes of beauty, invincibility, wonder, pride, freedom, coldness, self-sufficiency, and dainty individuality – the qualities of sensitive, enlightened, mentally developed, pagan, cynical, poetic, philosophic, dispassionate, reserved, independent, Nietzschean, unbroken, civilized, master-class men."

#28. "It is good to be a cynic — it is better to be a contented cat — and it is best not to exist at all."

#29. "The cat is such a perfect symbol of beauty and superiority that it seems scarcely possible for any true aesthete and civilized cynic to do other than worship it."

#30. "It is no compliment to be the stupidly idolized master of a dog whose instinct it is to idolize, but it is a very distinct tribute to be chosen as the friend and confidant of a philosophic cat who is wholly his own master and could easily choose another companion if he found such a one more agreeable and interesting."

#31. "The cat is classic whilst the dog is Gothic – nowhere in the animal world can we discover such really Hellenic perfection of form, with anatomy adapted to function, as in the Felidae."

#32. "The only saving grace of the present is that it's too damned stupid to question the past very closely."

To Conclude
A product of cruel parenting, bitter childhood, and merciless circumstance, Lovecraft managed to do what few before him did. He explored fiction and brought to life something that was avant-garde, eccentric, and disturbing (just like him).

These H. P. Lovecraft quotes depict just a fraction of the man's brilliance. Still, even a tiny glimpse is sometimes enough, and I hope you bask in it as much as I do.

To me that is all just self-analysis. It's just personal thought that others find entertaining and similarities to themselves in.

That isn't intended as a negative criticism.

I've said that I think we are all in communication with "the cloud" in some form or way. It is as if we all are "Link" in "the Legend of Zelda" and wherever we travel to, we find another clue, but we can't see the entire picture or get a sense of one because we are too close and can't stand back far enough to get the overall picture.

Some will claim that this is all Natural Instinct, but suppose there is no instinct? Suppose it is all just a subliminal connection to each other through "the cloud" but unlike the Krell, our puny cerebellum lacks the capacity to consciously operate "the great machine"?

There is some suggestion to this with things like clairvoyance, i.e, by some that can in some small way tap into the cloud to try to help others, but not see the significance or the specific meaning of it. Just a vision like a scene of coming attractions of a new film?

It's all just supposition and at the moment there for entertainment even if some of that self entertainment is down the horror story road which is probably just a misunderstanding of some of the significance of tapping into the cloud?

What is the most disturbing of all to me, my personal pain, is that there is absolutely no original thought, it's all been done before and we are just reading off of a script loaded in like a BIOS program in a computer and we just move the blocks around in what we think is a new combination?

I think of what George Harrison said after the settlement of the "My Sweet Lord" case. "There are just so many notes. Eventually someone else will come up with the same combination?"

In our case as Shelby enthusiasts, thinking about it though, I think that the ole' chicken farmer read the tea leaves pretty well and applied the data he "discovered" in a new enough combination to fascinate some like me for probably a lifetime?

His country roots knew, "you gotta' put the hay down where the goats will find it!"  ;)

Why are you not touring the circuit in your Shelby (had to make it Shelby relevant or car relevant at a minimum) giving lectures like Jordan Peterson?

Who would listen?

The doc asked me why I talk to myself. "Simple, I'm the only one who listens."  ;D

Everyone seems to have spiritual "experiences". I was listening to an interview with I think, Jimmy Page.
He was talking about "Stairway to Heaven". Paraphrasing what I think he said, he said he didn't write "the riff" in it.
He was staying at some ancient castle in the UK and a spirit came out from behind a curtain and played it, then left.

Now I didn't accept that as a non-drug induced hallucination at the time, but now I'm beginning to accept it more and more.

This isn't all provable scientific fact but the circumstantial evidence seems to mount up at times doesn't it?

Stories that are written in various bibles throughout the world here do often tend to have common denominators.

Were those writings of delusional individuals or are they just historical documents that don't translate well into the way our languages are spoken now, lack vocabulary to accurately describe what happened and dismissed as poppycock?

One doesn't necessarily need to use the word "believe" after hearing the story. I choose to think of it as "suspicion" that there is MUCH more to existence then we see and touch in our everyday lives.

I don't know how to take my belongings with me when I depart. Perhaps your "underground highway" is just a hopeful insight? I am going to miss so much and so many here.
In the next dimension, I hope that mine isn't being stuck in a fleabag welfare Hotel closet in Times Square with no lights and heat? Who knows until you get there?

Spiritual enough for you today? I can go on but I'm beginning to bore even myself as well.  ::) Plus I'm concerned that I'm going to get a bill for using "the cloud" too much and won't be able to pay it?

One does need to be practical about using these tools.  8)

I don't know if you write fiction.  But you should.  Ever thought of creating your own YouTube Channel and share some of your thoughts?  Always an option.
