There are no black production cars

Bob Gaines

+1 no regular production black. I haven't checked out this car but interesting most painted black 69/70 Shelby's I have come across over the years were originally Black Jade from the factory .

To be fair to the seller..
I've had maybe 10-15 Black Jade 69-70s..

Many people view it as "black"...

Obviously ones that are misinformed to where Black Jade (as Ford calls it) falls into the color spectrum. For those reading that are not familiar with the name it is a dark greenish metallic shade

Seems like there were a bunch of gulfsream aqua cars... I had no idea there were no black cars built.

Here is a Factory document with the regular production colors. There were a few special one off colors in the mix too .

That color (black jade), is often mistaken for black especially during low light. I had to correct several who couldnt tell. Looks great against a blacked out hood.

Where is Acapulco blue and Royal Maroon? I know a guy who tried to order a maroon car in Jan of 69 and he as told it was discontinued and grabber colors added. He wanted a GT350 and they found him a maroon 500 and he still owns it last I heard. Dick Soules. I first heard that story from him in the mid 80s.

Good catch Gary . Those were early colors that were dropped prior to the list I posted came out . You also forgot Silver Jade.
