67’ Power Steering Control Valve #16 Clamp
« on: February 15, 2022, 12:09:46 PM »
I have a couple versions of the Witteck #16 worm gear clamp to install around the P/S control valve/hoses, can someone comment on which style might be the one or close to what was used?

Of the two posted the one on the right is closer to what would be seen on a later car. Earlier cars used a special crimp type clamp. When you car built at Ford or what Shelby VIN ?

His car is early,

Bob, Is this the type clamp you are referring to?  (your image)

Not aware of any reproduction available, thought that was a matter of finding good used.  Hopefully I'm wrong (again).

I can tell you that on an original one there is a stamp on it shaped like a keystone.  I found one in a junk yard on a scrapped 67 Mustang 6 cylinder a long time ago.  The strap has long since cracked.   This is something I hope Mr. Fuller will get around to reproducing.
