That would be over 50% penetration of the ownership base - I doubt it's true. They brought TS inhouse because it was failing badly and they wanted to save money.
But then ownership does come with a free membership - so they are just moving some of your purchase money to a different accounting list.

Before Jim Cowles died he told me that paid SAAC membership was in the hundreds not the thousands like it used to be in the past decades. One club is growing and the other is shrinking

And I am not a member of either club so no favoritism on my end.

Far fewer owners than in the 70s and 80s. I think SAAC hit about 6,000 members at one point. Today with so many people owning multiple cars and the huge number that have gone into private collections and museums where they are just another Marque there are fewer people to attract. When I joined 1975 90% worked on their own cars today it's probably switched and 90% have someone else work on their trailer queen investment.

So, you peddle your cars on both and don't support either?  Sad

I have been a member of both SAAC and Team Shelby for a number years.  Much longer with SAAC, of course.  The cars are great, but the people in both clubs are even greater.  So many wonderful conversations, events and enjoyment of the Shelby named vehicles. They may have different philosophical directions but I enjoy both organizations and members. As fot TS membership, it is based on social media sign ups and not necessarily paid memberships.   8)

You are correct. Membership is not required to “peddle” cars on either site.

Traci Smith who is the director of Team Shelby stated paid memberships at that number not social media sign-ups

SAAC for old original Shelby products.  Team Shelby for new ones.
