All I see driving them are old men.

It will go the way of the Harley - ........ since the average Harley-Davidson customer is a married man in his early 50s, with a household income at or above $90,000. These are the customers buying motorcycles out of a passion for the product or lifestyle. - - - The reason for such drastic revenue decline is due to the market for Harley-Davidson branded motorcycles. The core customer base is aging, and younger motorcyclists are more apt to purchase cheaper options. The consequences can be seen in the rapid decline of US shipments over the past five years. US shipments have declined at a rate of 15.21% per year.

In reality those "old men" are the same people who were buying in the 80s - you could spot them anywhere in their uniform - Members Only jacket with a Corvette patch, unbuttoned shirt showing off several gold chains and FL SAACs ideal woman hanging on their arm.

This is our dream gal.....

68 GT350 Lives Matter!

crossboss

In all honesty, the 1963-1971 Corvettes are legendary. Who wouldn't want a '63 split window, or an L-88? I would be proud to own either one, or both!
Past owned Shelby's:
1968 GT-350--Gold
1970 GT-500--#3129--Grabber Orange.
Current lifelong projects:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase heads, intake with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style
1968/70 Olds 442 W-30

I thought that it was just a two man submarine?

Best bang for your buck, you get a car and you get a boat for $65k

And that's what I love about this car the C8 beutiful and disposable.  But yet compared to many super cars

We stopped for lunch, and as we were leaving the restaurant parking lot, I saw this car....
Yes, it's a Ferrari.... an F8 Tributo to be exact. And, of course, I had to get out and take a closer look....
I looked up some details.
Ferrari F8 Tributo, starting at $283,950....
https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/auto/f8-tributo
While it's only an estimate, Car & Driver suggests it can do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds!
https://www.caranddriver.com/ferrari/f8-tributo-spider
That's the same for the actual results for the Corvette....
https://www.caranddriver.com/chevrolet/corvette-2022
Of course, the Ferrari has a faster top end....

Outperforms them, yes. However, its a fugly car. The '63 and the L-88 is a real man's sports car. I know you love your C8's, I don't. Its all a matter of opinion.

I've owned 4 Vettes. A 1954, a 1963 roadster, a 66 big block coupe and a 1985. The 85 was the biggest POS I've ever owned bar none. I paid $600 for the 54 and it was a real crosswalk racer. I'd beat anything anything that far then it was over. The 63 was great fun and well balanced but the drum brakes were a disappointment. The 66 was great and I'd buy another one of those. It didn't handle as well as the 63 but you'd make that up on even a short straight. 68 and up I've always referred to as the Disco (era) Vettes. A friend has a 68 he bought new with the 435 hp tri power 427 - I'd take that one since it's only got about 15,000 miles on it.
I think I'd like to start a kit car company for guys who want one of the new Ford GTs but weren't woke enough to get on Ford's list. A fiberglass body that will sit on a new C8 chassis. I'm sure many will be hitting the salvage yards.

This came up for sale near me last week. It's neat but $89,000 I thought was too much. https://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/ford-mustang-gtt-by-zero-to-60-designs-combines-ford-gt-and-ferrari-design-cues-ar196087.html

For 'me' the disco cars were the 1970s (rear bubble window) Vettes, Trans Ams, and Mustang IIs with the big Cobra/King Cobra decals. Sticker/decal performance era.

Hey Tony,
The two cars may photograph similarly, but the Ferrari is 10 times a better looking, and put together, car in person.  (I realize you saw it in person...so your eyes may be different from mine.)  ;D

Of course, for the price, the F8 should be better than the Vette. A lot better. IMO, it is.  But for guys with the big bucks, some will take the Vette, or three Vettes, and call it a day. Others wouldn't be seen dead in the "plastic pig."

Since the F8 is based on the 458 that came out in something like 2010, who copied who in styling?
Current:
2006 FGT, Tungsten. Whipple, HRE 20s, Ohlin coil-overs. Top Speed Certified 210.7 mph.

Kirkham Cobra 427.  482-inch aluminum side-oiler. Tremec 5-spd.

Previous:

1969 LTD Country Squire 429
1963 T-Bird Sport Roadster

I agree with you 100% but im just a poor boy who grew up collecting bottles, selling papers and cutting grass.

To me that plastic pig is beautiful especially when it comes time to change the oil and tune it up.  Things that I probably can do with my hammer and screwdriver set that I bought at Kmart

Just imagine you bought a car that's a mini sub for $65k

And that's what I love about this car the C8 beautiful and disposable.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo, starts at $283,950....that's  a lot of bologna for me

If you can afford and flaunt it , by all means do so

One last thing betcha u can't float that Ferrari as good as the C8.....

I'l bet you're right on all that.

I grew up much the same way. Started working at my parents' business at age 8.  Every day after school and half day on weekends. Builds character...or so my dad would always say to me.  8)
