Carburetor Restoration

My two carbs on my GT500 appear to be original and unrestored but I have noticed that some seepage of fuel is starting to appear around the shafts.  The seepage is enough that it is leaving some fuel staining on the intake manifold underneath each carb shaft.  Surprisingly the car runs very well but I am probably living on the edge driving it with this situation.  I need to pull the carbs and send them somewhere to be restored.  Who would you recommend?

Philip Cancilla from Custom Rebuilt Carburators . They did a wonderful job on my BK-BJ carbs a few months ago .

Send them to Holley restoration shop, they do a great job.

If you want them to be restored to like new condition then call.  Joe Bunetic
Joe did an S2MS carb for me recently.  Nice guy and it turned out great!  My carb had been sand blasted before I owned it and now it looks like new.   He doesn't have email, phone calls only.  Information at this link:  http://www.ford6v.com/home/joe-bunetic

If you just need to rebuild them for a driver they aren't that difficult to figure out.  I'm sure most reputable parts stores would sell you a kit.  Or contact Shelby Parts and Restoration, they probably would have a rebuild kit.

Thanks everyone.  I am sending them to Vintage Musclecar Parts in Ohio.  I will let you know how he does.

Even after repairs, make sure you throw a fire bottle in the back seat just to be safe.  I have one.  I probably should have two.

plus one on fire suppression....Also ALWAYS disconnect battery when not in use especially on unrestored cars.50 year old wiring can do strange things......

+1 for Joe.  He recently went through a '68 Holley for me, did a great job and fixed lots of incorrect details.

 Joe Bunetic is the guy to see. He is reasonable and has been doing these for decades. Beautiful job on the BJ-BK's.  Holley Custom Shop I would avoid. They are not in the restoration business, but the repair business. There are many nuances when restoring factory applications Vs. those simply made for speed.
