I thought this might be of interest.  Not aware of these specially built models.

That is what I took from the article.  I suppose some would restore it just for the enjoyment of restoring the car.

One of those that is probably not worth what it cost to restore.

I'm happy to see someone cared enough to restore a piece of Mustang history that probably won't bring the big number at auction but did it just to share and enjoy it. Now if someone can find Stanley Tucker's 1,000,000th Mustang convertible, that would be really cool. But would that one bring big money? after all, it wasn't a GT or a HiPo 289. If I owned it, I wouldn't care. Of course Ford might pay big for it to display it next to Mustang serial #1.:)

Wow, finding one of those out in the wild is like finding a Golden Ticket.

There was one on Craig's list last year. Unrestored and they were not asking much. Passed on it

Interesting artifact. Makes me think of Goldfinger.
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"
