It's summertime and lots of car shows, I will be in the Walnut Street Invitational with my 66 GT350H in Pittsburg on July 9th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, stop by and say Hi

I will be there also, but not with my shelby.  I suggest getting there early - before 4pm is best.  I will be with a buddy in a 68 GT350 fastback.

The "invitation" says to be there around 3:30 and we area planning on heading into the city a little after 3:00
Its been a few years since I traveled to Pittsburg, but I remember the streets being somewhat rough and the traffic somewhat congested, but hey I drive in the DC area so it cant be worse that that. What color is the 68?

Yeah. The Shadyside area of Pittsburgh is in the congested parts of our city.  My buddies 68 350 is red. He might also bring his 65 gt350 instead, not sure.  I will look for your car and say hello.  Pizza and beer included upstairs at marios.

Steve, it was nice meeting you.  Please thank you wife again for the band aid  :).  Thanks for posting a picture of my '65 too!  I got the pedals fixed - had broken the cotter pin and needed new bushings as you suggested.  Pretty wild ride home -- the brake was covering the gas pedal!  Hope you enjoyed it.  Next time, you need to stay for the weekend in Schenley Park for the huge car show and vintage races.  The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand is a fabulous charity event!  Take care, Jason

Jason glad it was something simple, Car was really nice, makes me wish I had a 65. The show was great but what made it better was the people. I was pretty sure that someone was going to offer free room and board for the week, a place to store the car at night and front row seats for the Grand Prix. We are already making plans to return for the week next year. The wife loves vintage race cars and she says all men turn into little boys when cars are involved
Thanks to all for the great time and hospitality

Do we know the dates for next year 2019 yet

Nope, sometime in early or mid-July.  At least we know the location and approximate time frame early.  And that is a good thing.  8)

Steve,

I swear your '66 looks better and better every time I see her.  Considering all the miles you accomplish with her, that's amazing!  It's like you have a picture of the car in your attic that keeps getting more and more worn with paint chips and oxidized chrome while it's stays perfect.  Perhaps you own the Dorian Gray Shelby? ;)
Thanks,

It's a 3D car, Distance, Darkness, and Drunkeness makes everything look great. It's got a lot of "flaws" but it's still fun to drive
Helps when you have a Wax B@tch to clean the car (a.k.a "the wife")
She helps out at car shows and I help her at at her flower shows, been married over 40 years and she hasn't killed me yet.
If life was fair I'd be a millionaire and married to a super model, but instead I'm almost broke and married to Miss Tobacco Buyers Queen of Charles County 1970.    ;D

Steve,
It is a 10 day event with the weekend of July 13-14th being at PittRace just outside of Pittsburgh.  That's where the big bore cars run (i.e. Shelbys).  The main event at Schenley Park with the 3,000 cars however and the vintage racing on city streets is on July 20-21, 2019.  The Chairman of the Board for the PVGP is a Ford dealer and has strong ties with Dearborn and the Ford family, so it should be good.  Henry III's new Ford GT was there this year at Schenley Park in the Ford display.
