These chassis instruction books are for a Shelby 427 Cobra and an AC 289 Cobra. Small block Cobras beginning with chassis #2000 were first equipped with a 260ci and then a 289ci Ford V8. A larger side-oiler Ford 427ci FE V8 was made available for the Mark III Cobra, which also featured a redesigned tube chassis with a coil spring suspension. They are now being sold at no reserve by a dealer out of San Carlos, California.

The MK III 427 owners manual many times (most?) has brass screws . The same with the MKI and MK II books. Not always brass but enough to perk my concern with the auction ones. It is hard to say for sure because a monitor may not be color shade accurate but the shade of the paper is off too.  The paper between the MK III book doesn't typically match that of the MK II book  The MKI book is a different animal all together with different size from the other two and the shade of the paper. There are differences between the paper of genuine vs repro paper used in the manuals. FYI the repros have been available for over 20 maybe 30 years or so. That is more then enough time to get a little patina on the paper as is evident from the pictures. I have very serious doubt that they are genuine . I would have to hold them and inspect them in person before I gave a definitive ruling .Others may think differently. I am having problems loading pictures AGAIN  I am not as tech savvy as some. I have two of the one on the right in the first photo of the BAT listing.  (Neither has brass fasteners or are in as nice a condition but do seem old.  My dad got them in the '80's when he had #2082)
