what is a duke boy ???

Nice ramp safety.  Was that back when The Duke Boys drove a Shelby?
Bo and Luke Duke; Dukes of Hazzard. The girl in the photo is their sister Daisy. Very popular show from the late 70's-80's with the famous Dodge Charger with #1 on the side and with the confederate flag on top. The charger's name was General Lee.

Some may not know the show unless you're from the south.

A friend of mine worked for Warner Bros on Dukes. He was in the transportation shop and built/rebuilt/repaired/junked many General Lees.

As that was in the days before repro parts for Mopar B-Bodies, the Warner Bros shop guys like my friend regularly raided the local junk yards and pick-your-part lots.  By the end of the show, there were virtually no B-Bodies in parts yards in the greater Los Angeles area with suspension parts and front clips still on them.

In the eyes of our current "politically correct" society, this must have been a "racist" T.V. series!         :o

I never gave any thought to it at the time; I'm not a big Charger fan, but I sure did like Daisy's legs, but, I guess that means it might have a show of sexual exploitation!  Darn, just no fun allowed anymore!      ::)

1961 Thunderbird proposal...which was the first destination for that styling theme.  But Lincoln got it instead.

Looks like the still born LinGal . LOL  Glad this one didn't make it past styling. Right up there with the Edsel.

That's one of the better looking styling prototypes. I've seen some really awful looking studies from Ford during the '50's and 60's.
I'm more appreciative of the efforts to bring the production versions to market because of them.
