Some interesting comments on the Boss

One B9 was for CS?   Anything to support that?

A B9 for CS is BS , LMAO

^^^Stenciling on the truck's door:  From the days when half-ton pickups really were rated for just a half-ton. (Or a little bit over.)

Or, was that a 3/4 ton?  Notice the 8-lug (or is it 10-lug) rear wheels.

Cool Photo.

Look at the side scoop on the Shelby, it seems to have some sort of emblem on it and also, look closely, the opening in the scoop looks to be real sharp in the corners? Almost square and corners sharp?  Fact is, the whole scoop looks really squared off in the corners.  May be the photo?   Homemade :o ?

sd427

From the Petersen Archives, under the Bonneville category.  From the 1968 event.

Obviously safety precautions were not being observed.

But he did take safety precautions...plastic was laid down so he didn't get salt on his clothes ;D

+1 on the safety precautions.   A floor jack on the salt?  That was the most dangerous part of the event.

What kind of box thing is that on the header collector? Did that qualify the car to run in a "muffler" class or something?   I'm no expert on Bonneville.

At least it's a Heim - Werner jack and not H-Frt. No clue on the box shaped object. Mufflers were never required.

Cobrabob

It looks kind of large, but the box shaped object may be the pedal box from which the brake and clutch pedals sprouted.

Two more observations:

Front airdam in top photo.

Larger than stock hood scoop. Nicely done.
