I think this is the coolest period photo!!  I would love for this to be 1969 and I'm standing right in the middle of all these cool Fords under those fluorescent lights!!!

Wow! No flow over those hubcaps? Coralsnake is going to be upset? Maybe they are supposed to create air dynamic effects when they come flying off?  :-\

This is '67 car #142, unique history.  It was drag raced by Marv Tomkin Ford (they painted a Medium Gray Metallic car white) had the rear suspension modified by Bill Stroppe and sold it after one year.  The photo is the next owner, Dave Frezza, and when he bought the car the dealership insisted he repaint it so he did the custom paint job you see on the car in 1968.

The car was acquired by a buddy in 1975 and he repainted the car the original Medium Gray Metallic with LeMans stripes.  It had 1,050 miles on it (1/4 mile at a time) when he bought it.  He passed away just over a year ago (RIP Denny) and the car had just less than 4,000 miles on it.

Car was sold and the current owner has got it up and running after many years of storage.

Thanks for posting!

I'm wondering if this is a vintage '69 photo or a pre season photo. The Shelby T/A car started out the season running those wide 5 spoke (daisy style?). They switched to Mini-lites (back and forth to the wide 5-spokes) throughout the season. I've never seen a photo at any race events with torque thrusts.

1109RWHP, thanks for posting that photo ! Rich, I have a couple of other pics from the same photo shoot of that car, they were I think from the Fran Hernandez site ? In the one profile shot I have you can see those are Torque Thrusts. By the time they started preseason tests at Michigan International they had the Daisy wheels, and you are right in that later in the season they switched to Minilites.
I will try and post a photo here, from Michigan and see if it works with the new system.
I think there was a separate thread before for Trans-Am cars ?
