Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .

Back in the day I remember a couple of big blocks installed in the T-birds. One was a Chevy.
The red one with the blown big block Chevy that was in Hot Rod (70s-80s?) belonged to a guy I knew. His mom got it new and when he turned 18 she gave it to him. Within a week it had a small block Chevy in it. He worked at the local speed shop so he had access to deals on parts. When he got another car - a 65 Chevelle 2 door wagon that needed an engine he took the SB out of the Bird and stuck it in the wagon. The Bird became his toy and that's when it got the big block - he did all the fab and body work himself. The last time he street raced it he lost badly (and got a ticket) so he retired it to a cruiser. What beat him was a pedestrian looking Maverick with a NA 351 Cleveland with a healthy dose of nitrous.

The red Tbird was Rick King?

Yes - he lived across the street from a friend of mine. Lost track of them when they moved out to where his wife could have her horse. His brother still owns my local nut/bolt store.  https://www.yelp.com/biz/king-bolt-covina

Here's the cover of a confidential "competitive product comparison" booklet for dealers on the '69 Mercury Cougars.

new '70 Torino GT at dealer and "Authorized Ford Remanufacturer" truck. Looks like a Maverick on the right.

Snow on the ground, interesting building, any one recognize it ?

Howdy Mike!

Thanks for posting that - that is actually one of my scans that is now bouncing around the interwebs.

It is from my copy of a L-M Dealer Management magazine. Vol. 8, No. 3, September 1968 to be specific.

Below is the pic larger with the caption included.

I'd say there was a bit of bait-and-switch going on - that Cougar on the end is a GT and I doubt it could be had for so cheap.

I'm sure it's no coincidence they put a GT on the end.
