I'm not much of a T-bucket fan, but I have been considering installing the GAA in a 1955 Thunderbird I have, it would give a new meaning to the V8 badges on the fenders, and I think I would be one-uping ol' Carroll Shelby in the big engine in the small car dept;............ just haven't found the "adapter kit", you know, the one with "everything" one would need for the install!  ::)

Randy, yeah, the goal would be sort-of the Rat Fink car look, maybe with a shorter shifter handle thou.    :o

Side-Oilers , dual two barrel Strombergs, but kinda big! In excess of 500 H.P. @ 2600 (& +) R.P.M.'s & 1000+ ft/lbs torque from just off idle thru the usable R.P.M. range.  Goggle the Ford GAA engine as there is much information out there, and although I enjoy the topic, I'm afraid someone may cry foul, as we may be straying from the thread topic, and I fear not all appreciate dinosaurs.

BUT, THEY WERE COOL, EVEN BEFORE COOL WAS!   8)

The GAA engine ( like Scott has) is NOT the same as in the photoshopped image. The GAA is a HUGE engine that dwarfs a Boss 9 or cammer . There were internet pictures of one installed in a '69 Mustang and it looked more like a Hot Wheels car with the huge engine bulging out of the engine compartment. I've seen Scott's engine in person and it really is BIG.

That is it! And that is NOT photoshopped!!!

I already did, they sent me some motor mounts, valve covers and a short pump to fit a S.B.C. in a '32 ford, and said "that's what everybody uses", and they have sold thousands of these "kits", and "nobody else ever complained" and that I must not be doing it right if it won't make it fit!  :o

Perhaps, one of those "reality T.V. shows" could come by show me how it's done in a day and a half, a lot of bad behavior, at a budget of $50 bucks, and then sell it for big money profit!
Well......... maybe not, I couldn't stand the attitudes & B.S. for that long!   ::)

And yes, I'm sure the Zephyr will end up on my list of things that need doing something to. Just what I need,.........another project!   ::)

     Scott.

Google that address and it's the building for the Housing Authority of Los Angeles.  Wonder what it was in 1968?

This photo of the MKII getting towed by a bronco is interesting. I'd love to know if there was any other info noted.

I don't think it was taken in France. Before 1046 left the US it did not have the "2" on it.
Comparing that number "2" to the car at lemans it is not an exact match. It must have been taken later.

Rich,  There is more discussion about the photo on this Ford GT40 site on Facebook.   https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10214706939041443&set=gm.10156610416893685&type=3&theater&ifg=1

What a great Facebook page. I didn't have to log in to view it either.

They call this car out as P-1008, reworked to appear like 1046 for a show tour in 66-68, after that it was revised to look like P-1075 the 68 lemans winner.
That was really helpful to answer my questions. So many interesting photos and comments.

Thanks for the reply!
