Look how much style and character that car has in a sea of grey and white tadpoles.

Definitely.

Cobra at a show, could be California ? Is it just the lighting ? the door looks a different shade ?

Looks like all Hot Rods around it...maybe the Grand National Show.
I noticed those 'Firestones' in place of the original 'Goodyears'

I read somewhere that the cars were picked up at the factory, and broken in  by being driven to California

Unprofessional roll bar installation, mounted behind the seat rather than through the rear cowl sheet metal. This requires the seat to be in a forward position, and limits the height of a driver. Also, the front bumpers have been replaced with nerf bars. Surely, someone recalls this car.

Not a car, maybe not even a Ford item, does any one know what the application of this intake would be for ? I don't think it's photo shop.

Scott , you beat me to it! I actually saw one of those in person. YES 426 wedge for "Stage III heads"  Chrysler engineers though the engine needed more carburetion but they did use smaller carbs ( 500 cfm ea) , No faster at the track and a real PIA to tune. VERY few were made because of that.
