Never saw the pic of Shelby standing by the Daytona before-very neat!
Also like the two kids in the mini-mustang.
Much, much simpler times for sure!

Great pix of the little girls in the toy Mustang.   Wonderful experience and memories from 1965.

But, fast forward to 2020:   ALERT ALERT!  The kids aren't in rear-facing child seats!!!  And there's no adult in the car with them!!!!  Jail the parents immediately.

While looking for some thing else in the book "Monstrous American Car Spotter's Guide 1920-1980" my copy printed 1986, I came

across this image. '65 Mustang 2+2 fastback, looks like '65 GT350 wheels, and what's with the "Hurst" license plate ? Did "Hurst"

have rental Mustangs in '65 ? could it be a composite (early photo shop ?)

Those would be hurst wheels on the car I believe.Probably clipped from a hurst wheels ad...

It is an HURST Wheels Ad.  You would see those Wheels a lot on 65-67 GTO's and 442's.

honker

Thanks guys for the clarification on those wheels and image !

    Mike,
(Sorry , late to the party)     Those are HURST wheels. This was an ad from back in the day for the wheels. Yes they look "similar" to '65 wheels but different if put side by side.
