Thanks, and now that does sound familiar.
A guy that I used to autocross with sent me an article [a few years back] about a Pontiac wagon that he had raced back in the 70s - pretty sure (IIRC) that was why he said they ran a wagon  :)

  Wagons, sedan delivery, even convertibles: It had to do with the (mostly NHRA) class weight breaks.  You wanted the combination that was closest to .00  This gave your car the utmost advantage in stock class racing.

Wagons were the cats meow. I'd love to  have that Comet. That one's a killer. It needs a roof rack though so I can put my ladders on it? ;D
