This is going out to the State of Florida and any other friends in other states.

It does not matter if you are part of our club or not.

You are welcome  to join us.

We have spoken to several Mustang clubs in GA, NC, SC, TX, KY, TN, LA concerning driving the DRAGON. They all met this year in May did the run.

They planned hotel stays and attractions for five days of activities. They are contemplating doing the same in May of 2019.

Let us know if you are intrested in taking an out of state drive.

As more information becomes available we will disseminate it to you. Thank you

Tail of the Dragon was great fun in the Shelby rental I
acquired at the Atlanta airport back in 2017. I can also recommend the Cherohala Skyway for longer sweeping turns and overall higher sustained speeds in supplement to the Dragon. I recall being asked near midnight on Friday after I flew in to Atlanta from Chicago, a question by the service rep at the Hertz airport location: "So...what brings you to Atlanta?" My answer: "Your car..." It was the perfect setup. Sometimes these things happen by divine providence.

You mention the Cherohala Skyway, what is the distance from the Dragon  to the C.S. ? How long will it take to run the C.S.?

Cherohala Skyway is right in the area of the Dragon and links up to U.S. 129 The Dragon. I would say it's less than half an hour away and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the top. I did an in car video of the drive to the top and back down to give you an idea. See below...

Check out Killboy's website if you've run the Dragon, he's the resident photographer that's parked alongside the route and photograph's passing cars. You might find a photo of your Shelby deathsled within his gallery.  For those going to the Dragon or neighboring routes, be careful following a storm in the mountains as mudslides and tree limbs have been known to litter the roadway. Avoid weekends, holidays as it can get hectic traffic wise. Some even drive it at night for a different experience.

Thanks csx4133. I saw a few photos of the Hertz I rented while on the Dragon. I haven't bought yet but now you reminded me. I will double back. I think the pics were taken on March 19th 2017...
