Great article that came out a few months ago in Ford Muscle.  It even has words of wisdom from our friends Vern Estes and Bob Gaines.  As I was reading it counting down to the number one most anticipated lost Ford treasure, I was shocked to see Jim Morrison's 'Blue Lady' at number two.  Then I saw what they picked for number one and I kinda have to agree.

What is the story with the lost Hertz prototype?  When was it last seen?

Randy, I think at least the drivetrain is known to exist

A "couple" of those are rumored to have been made , but only one Mustang. Ron Butler of Shelby American drove it in '69 and said it was scary as hell! A friend of mine ( rip) was riding shotgun and agreed.

I think MrP told me that or I was drinking again....

Good list for sure!

I'd have to say (for me) #2 should be #1.  BTW - Bret:  don't you have some strong leads on where that car may be?

Also, I'm surprised they didn't have the 1969 Playboy Pink Shelby GT500 that was owned by Playmate of the Year Connie Kreski...
Nothing beats a classic!

Just to keep the record straight. Car number 5 on their list is the "1966 Shelby Hertz GT350 Prototype." They describe that car as "'65 Shelby, car #48." That might lead one to think it must be SFM5S048. Not true. It's SFM6S048. They should have written, "'66 Shelby #48." Yes, it started life as a 1965 chassis from San Jose, but was built into a 1966 GT350, hence its status as a carryover.

I predict there will be room on the list soon
So we gotta wait a week to find out which car on the list is now know?

Who said it's a car?  Pete might be referring to number 1, the lost 1964-1966 data.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

If not Morrisons 67 how about the 65 prototype coupe used to prove concept of the 65 GT350. It was before all of them.
