I was just contacted by the Event Manager for Charlotte Motor Speedway.  His name is Ed Fausel.  They are planning their Fall Autofair on September 6th to the 9th.  Within this event is the Showcase Pavilion.  The theme this year is the cars of Carroll Shelby.  It is an invitation only car show and they are looking for both A/C and Mustang Shelbys.  To submit your car for consideration, please contact Mr. Fausel directly at:

Just dropped off my car, perfect organization, in and out with my passes in hand for the weekend.

Nice, it looks to be a really nice event.  We'll post pics later for everyone.  Did you see the GT40?  It was already there when I unloaded on Monday.

I hate being the guy who always asks, but can someone take front and rear view photos of that Lime Gold '67 and get the ID number?
A VIN plate photo and or Marti report photo would be fantastic too if visible.

Thanks in advance from the nudge.

I'm pretty sure the Lime Gold GT500 is Tom Cotter's.  I'll confirm.

Thanks for checking on this Brian. I didn't see it at his get together last fall. Maybe a new purchase?

There was a sign in the back seat, but with hood down no VIN visible and I did not look closely at the sign.  I'll look tomorrow when the signs that the track is providing for the cars are put on the sign pedestals.   GT40 is a Superformance, pretty car with a Roush 427 in the back.

I'll do a photo album when while killing time during Hurricane Florence, as long as the power stays on!  This was one hot weekend, 94-96 degrees outside and probably more inside the garage.  Throw in tire smoke from the drifting crowd next to the garage, it was pretty uncomfortable in the garage.  A ton of people enjoyed the cars in Shelbyville, tho, on Saturday could hardly walk down the aisles between the cars.  I can't seem to post any single photos to this thread.... ::)

Steve McDonald Formally known as Mcdonas

There were some really nice cars there, including a Series 1,  a real 289 CSX car, a couple of continuation Cobra's, and a bunch of the 65-68 models.
Tire smoke? What tire smoke?
Owned since 1971, now driven over 245,000 miles, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Ok all, here are my pics from the event. It was great to see everyone, including Steve McDonald making a 7 hour trip.  It was very fun to be a part of.
