FYI in case you didn't hear Ed mumble at the end ,that is original paint on the car and although it might not be the shiniest the paint is only original once.

That car has always been my favorite of your cars. The addition of the Cooper Cobra tires is just a little over the top for me . No denying that those are fun tires.  I knew I would never have enough money to buy your Purple car so I did the next best thing I could think of ;)

For those who dont know Shelby had a tire & wheel companys in the early 70s  (Look at my ebay store nos poster HOT ONES from SHELBY international inc.) The tires on my shelby are wide SHELBY SIXTY And they have a cobra in a circle between SHELBY & SIXTY . Shelby tire sold different size low profile wide 60 series tires and were like the mickey thompson low profile tires from that era and were short lived since the new radial tires were coming out in the mid 70s.

When you mount the surf board, it has to go upside down with the curve going down? Was there a SAI bulletin on that?

Thanks for posting Bill.  We had always heard about Ed's 'Special' original paint GT500, but it's nice to finally see a picture of it.  That purple really screams 'the '60s'!

Thanks,
