Found some great ads, these were 'extras" I found that may be of interest.  The others will have to wait for the next Coralsnake update

Not a Ford, apparently those other guys had regional sales promotions too...

That's cool Pete, do you mind if I share that CJ ad with my Cougar brethren?

Here is a vintage newspaper ad we uncovered while researching the XR7-G book.

Kinda blew our minds - not sure exactly what the dealer is referring to. I can see reaching a bit and advertising a G as a Shelby produced automobile, but not sure what the "Shelby Sunroof Cougar" would be.

I would guess it is also referring to an XR7-G. They probably had some with and without the sunroof.

I've got more I'll post later.

Plymouth, Wisconsin is a bit like Oklahoma (a friendly shot at my pals there)

No, feel free to share. Its from the Denver Post. I would guess your ad is the XR7G

Thanks Pete -

Here are a couple of newspaper blurbs that we uncovered reporting on the Shelby/Smith/G arrangement.

Love that line: "Carrol Shelby's Michingan plant".

Here's a neat not-scene-since-1968 ad.

Looks like in this one the copywriter got the XR7-G and GT-E confused.

Yet another reason to love old ads for the details they provide. The dealership isn't huge from what appears to be limited lot space. Plus there's around 10 Cougars in inventory, so guess he expected they would be good sellers.

Finally, notice the International Harvester dealer sign. Guess he also sold pickups, Travelalls and Scouts too.

I'll tell you one thing, I'd love one of those Charlie Cougar balloons....

Here is my favorite - very cool XR7-G illustration used in the ad but no mention in the copy.
