Still Looking for a Previously Owned GT500
« on: October 05, 2018, 03:05:53 PM »
I haven't posted this plea since we got a new upgraded site. :)

Still looking for my high school 1968 GT500. It was in Lake Charles, LA in about 1978. Believe it was sold to someone in Mississippi around that time possibly a little later. Specifics when I last saw it:

Lime Gold
Automatic
Air
Had hubcaps
2 extra gauges in console
Crease in rear quarter on drivers side behind rear wheel opening
Nose had been repainted and a different shade than rest of car. Had original paint at the time
Chrome missing off lower front valence
Holes burned in shock towers for access to grease fittings
Had KR exhaust tips
Had aftermarket transmission cooler
Roar in rear end
Drivers side head had stripped manifold bolt hole. Was drilled and tapped larger.
Had 427 adjustable rocker arms
Had 427 dual point distributor
Had C6OZ-B CJ camshaft
Had electric fuel pump
Passenger side retractor reel cover missing
Did no have original block.

Thanks!
When things go bad just hit the throttle, may not solve the situation but does end the suspense.

I hope you find it. Such reunions can be sweet!

Best of luck finding your 68. Do you know the Vin number? Could certainly be helpful in tracking it down, registry etc.
I sold 6S281 in 1983 which I had inherited it from my brother in 1974.  Found it in 1993 and stayed in touch with the gentleman who had it, was able to buy back in January 2017, awesome experience.
 Persistence pays off!

I have not been able to find the VIN. I have many pictures of it but none of them show the VIN.
