Car runs fine but tach not working, any ideas, it would not run if circuit not complete , I am thinking it's the tach itself, thanks

Special Ed

FWIW, I highly recommend Rocketman's tach conversions. I've been running one for several years now. Works great, looks 100% stock, and if it should ever fail, it won't affect the ignition. https://www.rccinnovations.com/index.php?show=menu-mustang-all

Every post I make comes with an implied request for corrections. I'm here to learn.

I would stay away from the rocket man if you want to keep the tach as Ford built the car. Rocketman does not have the Ford parts to fix your tach, he converts them to a three wire movement. Fine if that's what you want. Phil Severence is the way to go. He worked for Ford, knows the tachs, they are repaired with Ford parts and they work when they come back, unlike the Tachman.
Phil does it right, in a couple weeks and stands behind his work.

Bob, Negative. He just does the three wire conversions. We spoke, and his parts supply to repair original tachs are very limited. You know my story with Tachboy.  I suggested having it repaired so it operates without additional wiring. The conversions are three wire.
