The "Registry Project" begins.....
« on: October 23, 2018, 12:45:36 PM »
The Board of Directors of SAAC held an in-person meeting last Saturday in Connecticut. The purpose was to review the strategy for the future of SAAC.

The meeting began on Friday night and carried through mid day Saturday. Lots of ideas and discussion, something that the board tries to do at the conventions but never really finds the time to sit and throw ideas around with all the demands of running the convention. The Registrars attended on Saturday.

The preservation and protection of the history of these important cars remains the mission of SAAC.  To carry out that mission, SAAC will begin to publish Registries on a single model year or type, publishing the printed Registries on a more frequent basis that in the past. The objective will be a model year new registry every twelve months, give or take. The format will be like the current SAAC Annual, a soft bound book that will contain the history and story of the model and its development, including all new information obtained since last publication, combined with individual car histories and color photos of as many chassis as we can obtain.

We outlined a schedule of publication and are off and running. Stay tuned and gather your best color photos

Awesome news!  I'll get my photo and description ready.  Guess I've got a few years before the next 68 registry comes out but I'll be ready.

Great to hear about all this. Keep up the valuable and much-appreciated good work you all do for all of us. I'll be able to contribute one day. I hope that it will be a project car that needs rescuing, as all the Shelby projects need, NOW.
Waitin' for the day I get my first '70 Shelby convertible!

I may be missing something, but after I fill in the form with all my car's info, how do I "submit" the form to SAAC?

Reply #3 above has the link to do the update electronically. At the end of it is a "Submit Entry" button.

It is awesome to know the results of your meeting.  I am excited to hear of the direction and appreciate the protection of the registries.

At the bottom of the form (on my computer) is a white box to list past owners...nothing more, no "Submit " button or arrow to continue to a second page. Anyone else seeing the same?
