68 convertible resto mod
« on: January 27, 2018, 12:03:30 PM »
I like the looks of the GT/CS and the 67 Shelby. Wanted a convertible.  So I spend 15yr building this car.  I only used the hood of a Shelby the rest is oem GT/CS parts off a wrecked car. Built a 347 stroker and added a 1 of 500 orig tripower intake/carbs. Orig motor and auto that came in the car. I put deluxe interior and wood grain items in. Added a white top. 10 spoke aftermarket 17 inch wheels.

Hi Troy, I love that color combination of red with white top and white interior, so..............classic. Nice job. Clean garage too! Good luck with it and thanks for sharing the photo. Denny

Hi Troy,

Your car looks great! I don't usually like larger diameter wheels on '60's muscle cars of any make, but these really work well on your car. Well done and if it drives as good as it looks, you have a really sweet ride there.

Best regards Steve

I’ve had at least 3 Mustang convertibles in red. One with black interior, one green guts and one red guts.
White top looks really nice.
Currently my 67 RS/SS vert is purple with white guts and a white top.

Your car looks nice and clean. Good job!

Nice car. Here is my interpretation, I started with a twice totaled 1969. I want to change to 10 spokes in the future.

I was waaayyyyyyy ahead of the curve, built this 68 "67 Conv what if" back between 1980 and on the road in 1982, with a revision in 1985. Mildly worked 302 4sp, swapped in 9" w/3.50, handling suspension parts available back then, full custom interior.

I still miss that car.
