Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .

Sir, I have 00214 with many early year similarities! I am surprised though that yours is not a dual serial number car, mine is. Quite a coincidence if they cut off the 2x numbers between our two cars!

Hi,

Pleased to hear from you. I'm in Columbia, SC. #214 lived in Worcester, VT with my uncle from the early 70's until he passed and gifted to me in 2009. I always loved the car and first drove it back in the 90's. He drove the car regularly in good weather - it is a driver not a show car. He called it his "50 foot car" - it looks great from 50 feet away!

I believe he was the second owner. Originally sold in Concord, NH.

I dont believe cars were built in strict numerical order. While the dual serial number cars were likely built before the single serial numbers, I can show you much higher numbers that are in fact, dual serial numbers....from memory they stretch into the 600s...I dont think they did dual serial numbers, stopped and then restarted the practice.

Here is a bit of trivia, they actually used two Shelby (Snake) VIN tags on a few cars. One under the hood and one in place of the warranty plate on the back of the door. That is pretty rare, so it didnt last long...
