69 GT350 build date 1/9/69 glass
« on: September 26, 2018, 06:25:35 PM »
Recommended glass for my car, any thoughts? I have the original and it’s in good shape but how about for show quality, does anyone remake all glass with proper markings?
Thank you in advance.

ECS is who most are using. There is less money glass however there is a issue with too small (compared to original)  Carlite trademark logo they insist on using

Is the rear window on the '69-'70 models glass or plastic?

You may also like to know most reproduction is sourced off shore. The tempering process is different. The glass has light and dark bands in certain lights and at certain angles

The 69/70  Shelby converts had a thin glass rear window. Corning was the MFG. It was a Mustang thing and not a Shelby thing.

I have seen this in German cars too.

Is there a source that doesn't have these bands?

The glass rear window was not exclusive to Shelby. It was a Mustang thing.

Never mind. I see what you meant up on your first response. I feel like I'm beginning to annoy you. Sorry. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer sometimes. Actually, I've become a little forgetful lately. I sure hope it does not begin to progress. :-\ :-[
