Checkered Flag - Cowden Ward and P51 Pecos Bill
« on: November 28, 2018, 06:09:26 PM »
Cowden was a friend to veterans and SAAC members with his P51 Mustang. He "lent" me his plane for 2 hours to photograph it with our cars. God speed, Cowden

So sorry to hear this (I didn’t know the man), but at least you can say he went out doing what he obviously loved.  Has anyone ever thought that dying during a drive in your classic Shelby would sure beat the alternative like how Elvis cashed out?
Thanks,

Sorry to here this. My wife and I were in Fredricksburg TX. that very day. We didn't know anything about a plane crash though. We left town about 25 min. after the time of the crash.

Geez. Fredericksburg is about an hour north of where I live. I’ve been there many times. There’s a pretty good sized car show there each summer that draws a lot of early Shelbys.

God’s speed indeed.
Nothing beats a classic!
