What was the date range that they stamped partial VIN's in the intake manifolds of the GT500's? If I remember correctly it was maybe February , March or so.
When things go bad just hit the throttle, may not solve the situation but does end the suspense.

I have an engine and 4 speed transmission from a February 12th built (as per Marti report) GT500 that has the partial Vin stamped on the intake manifold and the partial Vin stamped on the left front top of the transmission.

What portion of the VIN was typically stamped?
Was it from the Ford VIN only, or was the early Shelby dual VIN, or later Shelby sequence # used?
I have owned 8T03S-01425 since 06/76.
I owned 6S2295 in 1973 & '74.

Its a portion of the Ford VIN, likely to meet the federal requirement of stamping the engine with the VIN. I have seen them in early 67 production and into January 68

Which portion of the 11 character Ford VIN was used?

I presume it was the 6 digit Ford production sequence number, exclusive of the first 5 characters. Did I guess correctly?

No, typically "8T" followed by the six digits

1526 had one which was 2/22 build. Like Pete I've seen early as 67 dates  Also I've only seen on automatic trans cars
