Saw this posted earlier today, plenty of story going around, so far nothing with substance. 67 quarter panel? Anyone know the whole story?

light rubbing compound and two coats of fantaboulus turtle wax will get you a first place trophy in the original unrestored division...you know they are only original once...

Was the car in part primer or was there a "pinto" type fire from the collision?

cboss70

Shockingly it looks like the drivers side rocker is straight still and the quarter ripped clean off it.

JessC

i wonder how the door stayed so straight.. photo shopped picture?

Harris Speedster

No traces of the car color in the wheel house or any spots on the qrt.
Would guess the qrt skin, and the wheel house had been replaced.

Garbage welding where the skin was attached to the rocker.
My best guess?

Was this a rusted rear section rebuild with a Cal Special donor rear end (seen next to damaged car, notice paint color) used and subsequent failure test drive manuever?

Does that thing still qualify as a "survivor "? ;)

That car looks more like a Mustang II coupe based on the side rear window design (squared off at top and not pointed).
