Where should the choke control be located underdash? How/through what hole is it routed to the carb?

texas swede

The control knob is located as close as you can come to the driver side kick panel.
As regards the hole in the firewall, look at the picture. Please note that the grommet
has been changed, since picture was taken, to the ones Brant (Virginia Mustangs) sells
which looks exactly like the originals.

If your concerned about upgrading a detail like a grommet you might want to add some sound deadener on the firewall and around the master cylinder where it attaches to the firewall like factory too.

It's those subtle details that make this forum what it is. Don't get too bigger head Bob, but thanks

Just to expand a little

First it wasn't sound deadener but in 65-67 it was an adhesive. Product was also used to "black out" the horn wires during some production periods likely at the same station and the firewall sealing.

Attached or installed before hand was the

- master cylinder
- brake lines and retaining hardware
- electrical pass-throughs and junctions
- heater
- heater hoses
- speedo cable
- choke cable
- steering column and seal
- throttle bell crank and seal
- clutch rod and seal
- short e brake cable and attaching hardware

What was not attached was the ground wire and attaching screw. The cable was attached to the engine and installed with it later.

This and examples of the application and areas typically covered are shown in that article I posted on undercarriage finishing ;)
