There are needle bearings in the TC. It's not expensive to have them rebuilt. Obviously, all seals, bearings, bands and friction materials at minimum. I rebuilt the top loader in my Shelby, which required a couple gears, but in my opinion there is more of an art to rebuilding an automatic. You might consider having it done. I am sure the gentlemen here could recommend a known rebuilder in your area.
The Shelby is beautiful. I remember when my shell came back painted. I couldn't wait to dive into it. Tragically, I had completed the suspension and It was sent to paint with it on. The painter was careless which necessitated complete disassembly, repainting, some replating and replacement of several items. Lesson learned. Keep the progress pictures coming.
