Pete,
Would you happen to know the date of this captioned photo.
I'm trying to figure out which CSX# car this was with that #11 on the hood. It might help to estimate the timeframe.
The caption notes a car made in Italy which eliminates csx2287. That should leave only;
-csx2299 #11 June 19, 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans (Jack Sears-Dick Thomson)
or
-csx2300 #11 Feb 28, 1965 Daytona Continental 24hr (Ed Leslie / Allen Grant)

I'm wondering if this UCLA car show was in January...and just maybe an annual show where "Little Red" made an appearance in 67?

The Pan pacific show was Oct 27-Nov 6 in 1966. The base unit for Little Red was not even built yet at San Jose.

The Paul Newitt GT/CS book mentions a car show in January which would make sense as the car was completed by SA in December.
Maybe it was this same UCLA show!?!

The Daytona you pictured is csx2300. I'm positive. It was raced in late February 1965 at Daytona.
I believe it is very possible this UCLA show was in January before the Daytona race.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

Oct '65 is much later than I expected. That seems to kill my thought on the January auto show!

What about 1967 for the show?

Richstang

Do you think the UCLA show date moved to January in 1967, from October in 1965?

Nice old clipping. Thanks for posting.

I'm just bummed that UCLA doesn't have its own Sports Car Club anymore, let alone a "director of rally."

Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .

Thanks, I'm glad you someone agrees on the CSX #.

The odd part here is that the photo is exactly how the car was presented at Daytona in February '65 with that unique font #11. I really believe this is the timeframe when the newspaper captioned photo was taken, despite the October 14th paper date.

By March the number was changed to a bolder font #12. In May it was repainted white #56 for the Nurburgring event. Then in July it went back to blue with the white stripes for the Reims weekend race. It disappears from public view until it shows up in Japan in 1966 for the Grand Prix.
