I don't know you, so I don't know if you're being facetious or not, and I hear you about whitewalls.

But IMHPO, when a feature that I actually don't like at all (WW tires), happens to be historically correct (and exceedingly rare), it rockets right up to the top of the COOL scale for me!

Different, rare, AND historically accurate? NICE!

When I win the Lottery and the Super Snake becomes mine, it shall retain it's made-of-unobtainium, only-NOS-set-on-the-planet, Goodyear Thunderbolt whitewall tires!

But that's just me . . . .

Has this photo been doctored?  Looks like the L/R tire is off the ground, and there might be a wheel of a floor jack visible under the rearend. But there's no suspension droop...so optical illusion or??
Also, the tread of the L/R tire looks strange...like its been enhanced for contrast by the photo processor or something.

if the jack is one of the long versions for trucks it would reach to the diff and that would account for the rear suspension not dropping...

Hell, CS would drive it at top speed with the rearend on a floorjack, big crack in the windshield, bowl of chili on the seat, whatever.

I'd change it to the Magstars with small letter Goodyear's, as I'd expect it left the factory.
The white walls on the 10-spokes would make for a nice display along side, but I'm not a fan of them on the car.

Cool is a relative term. Many have had issues in restoring a particular car with significant history.

I think the best advice that I heard was that you just need to pick a place in time to restore it to?

Every owner needs to make a choice. I doubt there are any 100% perfect solutions.

OK, seeing this angle, now that earlier pix makes sense.  Rearend on floor jack. Guys installing a fifth wheel.

Someone says "Hey Carroll, go stand by the car and pretend you're getting ready to drive it, for a photo. And who's got his black cowboy hat? Toss it on the hood."
