Anybody ever hear of a GT 637?
« on: December 19, 2018, 06:57:33 PM »
Check out this ‘Mach 1 Racing Team GT 637’.  It’s marked ‘Ford’ and ‘Made in Japan’.  Pretty fun to see what the Japanese thought of our car culture back in 1973 or so.  That’s because we utilized ‘Supercar Engineering’ and it’s a ‘Winner’!

Thanks,

Supercar Engineering was real. Malcolm Durham (of Chevrolet drag racing and Strip Blazer fame) ran it, think it was in Bladensburg MD. Apparently the guys who designed the toy read drag racing magazines. The paint scheme is a knockoff of Bruce Larsons USA 1. Kind of a neat toy, actually.

I like the Dragon on wheels, kind of an homage to the Cobra on wheels.

Looks like Bruce Larson had an Eagle with a parachute.
