1966 Shelby GT350 Vin# SFM6S2020

1 of 29 Factory Raven Black cars (non Hertz)

The sale of this Shelby presents an opportunity for the astute Shelby lover to purchase a rare factory order car with a well documented and clean history.

Ordered 7/7/66 , Picked up by Hi-Performance Motors 7/11/66 , later returned to Shelby American and used as a Company Car until late 67 when SA closed its LAX operation.
Howard Pardee from SAAC Registry believes a SA employee bought 2020 at that time. (Howard thinks the name in the registry is not correct) registry also states 2020 was painted white and a 65 dash pod fitted, which is also incorrect.

Purchased by Don Montgomery 1970 with a Shelby American fully race prepped R-model motor from one of the 36 R-model cars (vin# confirmed with Howard) complete with Balenger race headers
and 715 le mans holley carb with a date code of 422 and has been identified as probably being a Shelby and Holley race shop prototype which led to the production carb.
Also has 11/64 dated Koni shocks.
Donny says the guy he bought 2020 from (Ted Lutz) told him it came from SA with all the above mods.??
2020 at that point had had a very quick (i.e. no parts removed) resale red paint job..
Easily sanded off to reveal the original black paint and all original no rust ever,. straight unibody .
Under body red oxide paint is all original.
Only the drivers front fender has been replaced by Donny in mid 70s with a ford new OEM part, because of minor dent to wheel arch and body line above the wheel arch.
2020 still retains her original all steel hood.
Body has been repainted with an acrylic urethane which gives a more OEM peel look (no mile deep clear used here)
All glass including windshield are original to the car and the plexiglass windows have never been out.
I have both the Fomoco etched original to the car headlights and they work.
The original black and yellow lic plates with the original HI-PO Motors frames are still with the car.

2020 retains her orig transmission with tag and orig 3.50 geared open rear end with tag and her 5 orig ten spoke rims.

Interior is mostly original with only the carpet , dash pad and door trims being replaced.(have originals)

Have original GT350 owners manual, HI-PO manual, Ford good drivers manual, and an extremely rare Rohm & Hass Plexiglass care sheet.
Also NOS mustang manual and original 66 Mustang brochure.

All three original Ford Vin# are present , along with the Shelby Vin# stamping in the passengers side apron near shock tower.
Original Shelby tag has never been off the car.

Donny parked 2020 in 1977 in a dry closed garage with 14,622 miles showing and she did not move from that spot till i bought her from Donny in 2012 and in 2015 just before i registerd her she showed 14,622 miles. since then she has done 4000 glorious trouble free miles.
Driven in LA for 11yrs it is probably 114,622 miles.

Shelby is located in Australia and is offered for sale at $310K AUD $220usd
One hour north of the major Port of Brisbane and can personally deliver to a Shipper there.

One of the two Black/white side stripe cars off to the left of the 67s here at LAX would be 2020, the other would be 1750, another company car.

As i first saw 6S2020 in 2007, bought her in 2012.
Had not moved from that spot in 35 years.
note the five 10 spokes on the wall.
