What a great event, if I say so myself.
Large group gathered Friday night for the meet and greet with steak sandwiches, fries and drinks.
Saturday morning breakfast with typical breakfast food and organizing for the road tour. This year's tour was longer than ones in the past but were on great roads and lots of twisty areas and open areas to use the car as intended (old or new!) with our lunch stop at a dairy bar that makes all their own ice cream (lots of unusual flavors). After a little down time we headed out to a local VFW to have dinner which included corn on the cob, burgers, hot dogs, beans, potatoes, macaroni salad, soft drinks and cookies. Now outside to watch 'Hollywood Knights' on the big portable screen next to the an ice cream shop that everyone had a coupon for. Man, did we get lucky. As the credits started to roll at the end of the movie the first light rain started to fall. Whew! Sunday morning was a little foggy but once burned off it was a fantastic sunny day for a car show. We had 149 cars this year was is up from previous years. Fair number of old Shelbys and two new Ford GTs.
If anyone goes home from one of our events hungry it is their own fault.
A huge thank you to all Club members that help make this event happen. Special thank you Dan Reiter for the bulk of the work up front and giving up driving the Saturday tour to take up the rear and take a bunch of pictures. Sunday car show takes the most help and Club members turned out to help park cars, write up forms for day of entries, sell merchandise, count ballots, (wo)man the charity basket raffle, sell 50/50 tickets for charity and yes, all of those that hung around after to clean up both Saturday night and Sunday.
Car show results - please see attached document
I will post pictures soon.
