Looks like Vic Edlebrock kept his daughter in a dog crate while he was testing at the track. Obviously, it kept her safe.

Can you imagine if that happened today?

Quite a few interesting vintage photos come up under "1969 Ford Shelby GT Mustang".

Photographer is listed as Eric Dahlquist and says they were taken in 1968.

There are several photos taken of people in office/studio-like settings, including these men working at drafting boards creating artwork.

Anyone know who they are? John Chun one of them?

Coralsnake

Doubtful, they are likely Peterson employees. I do recognize many of the 1969s as pre production cars

Thanks for the link, that sight has a lot of great images !  top left photo posted by propayne, that's the Wallis-Shelby turbine car hanging on the wall above him on the right.

Yes - looks to be the original illustration by Wm A. Moore that appeared in the June 1968 issue of Motor Trend - a Peterson Publication.

It was pretty much standard operation in those days for the client to keep the original artwork when said artwork was commissioned from an illustrator.

So as Pete stated, more than likely those are the Peterson offices and employees.

Don't know why they pop up under a "Shelby" search on the archive.

98SVT - was 06GT

Bottom photo not a Petersen office. No trees outside any of the many office buildings he owned in LA. Most drawings were outsourced and photos done inhouse. There was a large studio in the lower parking lot on Sunset.

Cool info -

Looks kinda like a hill with some scrub brush on it - very California-like.

Very typical freelance illustrator arrangement - working at home.

Still curious what the circumstance was for the photoshoot and whether or not there is a Shelby connection.

Agreed. I worked in several of those buildings. The big 8490 Sunset building might have had some sort of view like the lower-left photo, back in the day, but the pix looks more like a canyon view.
