Dividing lines on a road

Without looking it up what do you estimate the length to be of a dotted line on any road and the corresponding distance between each line. The answer is a bit surprising. I am planning a diorama hence the reason for the question.

Much longer. Here is the science behind why we underestimate the length by so much. Though 5 feet is far better than the average estimate of 2 feet.
