I suppose a 12 cylinder JAG would be a great high speed cruiser. He doesn't strike me as a balsy driver or even his buddy Dennis with the polished fingernails, and color treated hair :-[ Pictures don't lie... A right up on these well prepped cars would be fascinating to me.

This was back in the time when real men drove real cars with freedom and abandon
I remember crossing the Nevada border and seeing a sign, “all speed limits end”
I still think about it and smile
Owned since 1971, now driven over 245,000 miles, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Wheres a picture of the fastest cannon baller Richard Gas Monkey Rollins?

I think he ran the Later ones, 90's early 2000's.  On his show, He said he won TWO of them.

This "event" became so problematic that it went so underground that I suspect that sometimes there was only one entrant. This could be the case in Richards situation. As Rick might say, some become a "legend in their own mind".  ;)

More likely even more secret. Maybe the snakeskin boot dance?

Better known as the "Michael A. Preston Memorial Four Ball Rally" run in the early 80's from Boston to San Diego  8) with a similar mindset to the original Cannonball.

I ran in the first Four Ball in 1982. Drove an ex-CHP cop car, painted dark blue.  Sold it to Dan Aykroyd afterwards. True.

BTW: I gave Aykroyd a very fast ride in my KR. He loved it.

Do you have an original copy of this pictures?

I "may" be in it  ;)

That's cool, Bill.  I will look through the old Kodachromes that I can still find.

There was also a Boss 302 in this run. Some guys bought a new Trans-am in Colorado drove it to the start the next day and by the time it got to Redondo Beach it had 5,000+ miles and a rattle in the motor in less than a week. The guy was going to wait a month or so before he took it in for warranty work.
