I believe this is car #1979 sold at Barrett Jackson in 2007 and offered on eBay in August last year. If so it has it's original VIN tag.

The restoration is exceptionally clean. It is good to see the side stripes were properly positioned.
At a local car show or concours d’ elegance event it might win its class, but we can see it is not factory correct. I believe the auction listing states that in its own way. We know the car didn’t have lemans stripes when it left LAX and it also had hubcaps.

With a May 17th SA completion date I would think it should have a louvered hood.
Although doubtful, you never know, maybe there was a supply shortage. more likely a service replacement part or restoration change.

That antenna is really bothersome. Previous photos of it (post restoration) show it positioned correctly. I can’t believe someone wouldn’t fix that before taking photos for a sale!
+1 . A common restorer mistake is to put a transport tie down sticker over  a painted on lemans stripe. The sticker is applied at the Ford assemblyline and therefore painted blue in the alternate universe of SA painted on lemans strips  ;) . Sorry I couldn't resist  ;D

HA!
 ;D
In that alternate universe, I suppose the transport tie-down sticker from Ford would have to be removed first, then the lemans stripes painted.
Doubtful SA would have any of those Ford stickers lying around or care about that detail, but you never know.

One of these days I need to ask Dave if any SA Production Orders had the 'Full Stripe" box marked
or
If the Lemans stripes show up on an original invoice with a charge. I have not found one car with them in all those copies that I have on file.
FYI I have seen some 65 and 66's where the lemans stripe was painted over pieces of the transport tie down sticker that didn't get torn off all the way . I suppose the painter figured it was behind the license plate anyway. Also the bumpers were many times not taken off and you see blow outs (paint overspray) behind the bumpers, hood and trunk lids. Some more then others.

Maybe the seller is ignorant about what suppose to be correct and needs someone to really tell him what a "Concours restoration" consist of instead of beating the car up here on SAAC forum.  GO TELL 'EM GUYS!!!  And No,  Not me 'cause I'm "ignorant" about a lot of this stuff myself ;D

Seller has a SAAC sticker in the back window, so he can't be all that bad, right ???

In this case Concours refers to the level of effort, i.e., quality level of the restoration rather then the historically as built accuracy. It's a common mistake and brings up the most vocal criticism of the advertising.

Some of us get blocked for trying to correct or point out grave errors.  Pookie likes to run his mouth in messages on Ebay. The "Yard Gnome" would think twice if I were in front of him without a doubt.

So out of curiosity since this is a non AC car and they "butchered" it for AC wouldn't that have an effect on the value? One of the reasons I never added AC to my Shelby. Gary

I don't see it as "butchered" if it was done with factory parts. It's too damn hot here in the Dallas area to be without. You north east and west coast girls can live without it.😃

" Butchered" to me means you cut out factory sheet metal to install the air conditioning. On the firewall(?) and the front radiator support at least on a 69 and that is why I never added air to my GT350 vert. I got a friend who took the air off of his 70 GT500 4 speed vert. He will eventually have to fix the rad support and firewall on his 70 if he wants to take it to the next step. His car was a Texas car at one time and interior also changed to white. Gary

1967 doesn't require "butchering". I know what the term means, hench my response. If you live in certain climates it's miserable  to drive the vehicles from may to October.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the firewall being the same on 67s whether you had air or not. 69s the firewall is cutout larger for air. But the rad support would still be cut for the lines going to the condenser. I understand the plight you have down there with heat in the summer.

Ah, some folks better go look at a 67 WITH A/C and WITHOUT A/C.  The fire walls are different.

No, the firewall isn't different. It has a cover that screws over the blower motor opening. There is a small punched plug that has to be removed on the left hand side core support though.

So lets be clear here so I can be better educated on 1967 assemblies: Can you install factory air on a 67 firewall without ANY modification at all? So if you go back to non air does metal work needed to be done? Gary

If your adding/converting a non-AC 67 to a AC 67 the firewall needs to have some sheet metal removed from the firewall by the heater motor. If your changing from AC to non-AC a section of metal needs to be added to the firewall for it to look like it would have from the factory.

Also, believe the Al wheels are after market as there seems to be no slight taper on the spokes.
