It was the summer of 1970. I had been going to the car auctions with a dealer friend of my mother's...and was looking for a Big Block Camaro. 2 months had gone by, and I was getting frustrated in my search. I was watching a movie prior to leaving for my graveyard shift one evening, when my little brother yelled at me....."Hey , look at that car, that's a Shelby, you should buy one of them!"..That was the chase scene from ...The Immortal !
The next afternoon at the dealer auction there were 6 Shelby's....one beat up 67...Four 66 Black/Gold Hertz cars in not too good shape..and one White/Red Hertz car in good condition. I bought that car ..6S531. for $1030.oo + 50 bucks to my dealer friend......later discovering the Gold Paint under those red stripes....the journey had begun... 8)

Cool shirt too...!

Got any pics of your 68 .Shelbydoug ??

I have this labeled 1972. That's about right. American 200-s wheels. An old 110 camera shot. Not too many pics surviving at all from back them. Pic is probably faded.

No Cobra shirts to wear yet then.

Former Hertz, NY, NY car.

I didn't get my first 35mm until a few years later. First I got a 110 with a zoom. Problem was development costs of prints then, You couldn't see what you shot until you got them back.

Then I went to 35mm slides. Most of my stuff is on them. I started transferring those to digital. If I live another 100 years, I might get them all done?

Those were turning colors too. No one told me they were using Fugi chemicals on my Kodachrome film?  >:(
