Going to throw this out here and see if Saac forum can post any leads on a recent purchase.

25 + years ago A home in annapolis md was sold at auction  in the garage there were 3 cars .
914
916
open wheel race car .

we don't care about the 1st  2 in this story
New home owner sold off the 914 /916   shortly after buying the house .

that being said there is a bit of of mix of parts  with the car
The wheels are dan gurney
the hubs appear to be 914 (previous owner may have been transferring parts from other cars.)
the nose appears to be chevron B20 also rear wing (not in pictures) nose may be fred opert racing  B20
upper front control arms are very  similar to Chaparral  cars of the period.
the brass tag puts car in Vegas scca  region  formula super v #03

There was a builder tag on the tub ...... but it is gone

the front suspension is very unique and should help identify car or builder

the tub has torsion bars running for and aft  on both sides for front and rear suspension.

The blue shocks are dated 1971 de carbon shocks ....(worked with Bilstine  to develop gas charged race shocks)

steering gear has British pat number

main hoop nickle plated along with contol arms

current  assessment is it may be a converted formula atlantic  / formula b / formula ford   to Super v.

Open to ideas  from any of the open wheel racers on the forum .

I've put this out to a friend, long time open wheel racer from Michigan, and former Shelby owner. See if he has any ideas.

Appears to be a early Beach 02 Super V judging by the tub.

not a beach
Homemade copy of a Beach? It's quite common to find copies of FV cars. Somebody bought one and their buddy who couldn't afford a new one copied it.

Exactly 98SVT-was06GT, Wasn't uncommon to have to modify the tub, roll bar height, suspension to suit. I ran an early Zink FV in the late 60's in SCCA and remember most of the then current FV set ups.

Surely, that can't have the original bladder after all these years!  If it's like most of 'em, they go bad after about 10 years and start leaking.

the car was locked in a garage for at least the last 30 years   so it   likely leaked out and dried 25 years ago
