I can see both sides to this argument on whether a 25 year old car/truck can be considered an antique. I don't use my states antique vehicle plate system because it's too restrictive, I just hope this doesn't become a trend for some states. I guess it could be considered a new found "cash cow" retrieving the licensing fees from a portion of the 156,000 antique plate holders in Arkansas.

When I see those antique plates on an 80's car it makes me laugh.
I think 40/45 years is a good number.

That one sentence could explain it all  ::)

Biggie, have you been to AACA Hershey recently? You might go nuts  :o Last time I was there I saw a first-gen Explorer (same color as one that I'd had) and a couple of second-gen Chrysler-Corp mini vans  ??? among the vehicles that seemed VERY out-of-place.
Yes, 1994 and older are AACA eligible this year - makes that stuff from the 80s look downright ancient  :-\

I live in Arkansas! I agree and glad they passed the 40-45 years rule! I hate to see some old rusty recent pickup trucks or cars with classic plates!

Gee, the government down there wants to P.O. 145,000 voters?

They should make it antique or curio. Set the age but also offer it to limited production cars - say less than 1,000 world wide.

So in 10 years, you gonna say 90's cars make you laugh and 50/55 years is a good number?

We're getting older BF, face it ;)
